Well…I’m sad to say that I was really disappointed in my Stitch Fix this month. It was bound to happen. A few of the pieces were cute, but either wouldn’t have been totally appropriate for work or were WAY outside of my budget.
Even though this month’s Fix left me mostly with an “ick” face, I’m sure next month’s will be better!
Here’s what I got:
FFC New York – Brooke Two Tone Flats – $39
Do you ever see a pair of shoes, love features of them, and then hate the shoe? That was my response to this pair of flats. I love the pointy toe. I love the bright teal color. I HATE the camel color of this two-tone flat … which is strange, because I typically love tan on shoes. Hmm. If the shoes would have only been tan or teal, they would be in my closet now! Bummer. Verdict: Sent back
BRIXON IVY – Athena Crochet Sleeve Blouse – $54
This shirt is beautiful! The crochet detail on the sleeve is gorgeous. However, the fact that the material is quite thin makes this a no-go for me. As a high school teacher AND a Mommy, I don’t feel like I can wear thin material. Even with a camisole under this shirt, I wouldn’t feel comfortable out in public 🙁 Verdict: Returned – Bummer
Loveappella – Scooby Cross Back Knit Top – $48
I was certainly a fan of the color of this top, but that’s the extent of my love for this top. T
he material was clingy, and the back of this shirt had a crisscross cutout pattern. Again … high school teacher and a mommy. I would not have felt comfortable in this top. Verdict: Sent back
Paradigma – Genoveva Crochet Trim Detail Tunic – $54
Ok. My first thought when I looked at this tunic was, “I’m pretty sure my Grandma had a shirt exactly like this.” I’m not lying. Seriously. I am a huge fan of plaid, but after looking at this sleeveless tunic with lace detail, I realized that I am in fact not that much of a plaid fan. Yikes. Verdict: Sent back
Lila Ryan – Dorianna Skinny Jean – $98
When I saw these pants in my Stitch Fix box, I loved them. When I tried them on … I still liked them. When I looked at the price tag, I no longer liked them. I’m a huge sucker for skinny jeans, especially in the adorable dark pink color that these pants are. However, I once spent $80 on a pair of pants when I was in college and I STILL haven’t heard the end of it from my husband or my dad. If the pants would have been fit perfectly, I probably would have cried putting them in the bag to send back. Verdict: Sent back
As you can see, this month’s Stitch Fix was not a winner … this just means I need to pin more ideas on Pinterest to help my stylist. More Pinteresting. Darn 😉
Good news, though! Stitch Fix is now able to send great brands of shoes … like TOMS which are my FAVORITE shoes to wear, other than my Nike Vomero running shoes, of course 😀
Here’s to a better April Fix!
