Wow! It’s been quite some time since my last post! I’m still here, friends! In my last post, I shared my success with the 21 Day Fix. I’m continuing the eating lessons I learned on the Fix, completing the 10-minute fix for abs nightly, and running about 10 miles per week – I FEEL AWESOME! The 21 Day Fix is fantastic, and I highly recommend it. However, the meal replacement/nutrition shake marketed with the 21 Day Fix – Shakeology – is super expensive. Way too expensive for my teacher salary. So, instead of shelling out $129/month, I started looking for a comparable product, and I found it in Ideal Shake!
So, what makes Ideal Shake so great? Many things 🙂
–>> Price: IdealShape (company that produces Ideal Shake) offers a variety of packages for Ideal Shake. The package I purchase (1 tub, 3 sample packs, and a shaker cup) is $49.95 + S&H. This allows me to order a favorite in the 30 day supply and then try three other flavors. Last month, I purchased a tub of the cookies and cream flavor … since my Oreo craving can become a tad intense! The verdict? I LOVE IT! Throw ice, 8 ounces of unsweetened regular almond milk and a hand full of ice cubes in the blender, and it ALMOST tastes like an Oreo shake. As close as a healthy nutrition shake can get!!
–>> Taste: You know how some meal replacement shakes can taste chalky or have a gritty texture? Not Ideal Shake! It’s creamy and smooth no matter how I make it! The cookies and cream variety is so delicious, but I sampled the mocha flavor earlier this month. Holy moly. It tastes exactly like a blended/iced coffee from my favorite coffeehouse – without the whipped cream, extra calories, and boatload of sugar!
–>>Filling: With roughly 11 grams of protein per serving, Ideal Shake keeps me full until my mid-morning snack! I normally drink my shake on the way to work, which is about 7:15. My morning snack is normally an apple or banana at about 10:00. IdealShape suggests drinking water immediately after drinking your shake … apparently that helps with something! Ideal Shake includes Slendesta – a protein extracted from potato skins – that aids in blocking hunger.
I don’t pretend to be a fitness or weight-loss guru, but for my money, Ideal Shake takes the cake. I’ll definitely be purchasing a tub of the mocha flavor this month!! What’s your favorite nutrition/meal replacement shake?
